Latest Releases

This page includes the latest releases of the Age Verification Blueprint applications. The applications should be considered as reference implementations that can be used by Member States or by any other public or private entity to build an EU Age Verification solution.

The applications are available as open source to allow the community to provide feedback and contribute to the development of the solution.

It should be noted that these applications are not intended to be used in production as-is. They require further development, security hardening, and adaptation to specific deployment contexts before being suitable for real-world use.

Highlights

  • Accessibility: screen reader support across onboarding, PIN entry, Settings, document and photo capture, and QR scanning — headings, link and button semantics, labelled camera controls, and live announcements of entered digits, errors and remaining retries.
  • Landscape orientation: the app now supports landscape, with reworked layouts for the passport scanner and NFC reading screen and a scrollable full-height container so screens stay usable in short viewports.
  • Large font scales: headings no longer clamp their line count, and link touch targets meet the platform minimum across their rendered lines.
  • Dashboard credential card: announced as a single description followed by the remaining accesses, with the badge actionable only when it leads to adding more credentials.

  • Screen reader support throughout onboarding, including headings on the passport verification screens and a named, reachable page indicator
  • TalkBack support for PIN entry

  • Plural and gender agreement of the remaining-accesses badge in French and Italian
  • The credential card briefly showing an age before the claim resolved
  • The landscape passport scanner frame pinched into a narrow centre column
  • The NFC reading illustration scaling to the full screen width in landscape

  • Landscape orientation: the app now supports landscape orientation, with updated layouts and fixes to ensure screens remain usable in different orientations.
  • Authentication & security: credential-signing keys are now bound to hardware authentication, with a genuine authentication check replacing the previous biometric gate.
